New A la Carte PROCLEIX® Oil Improves Reagent Utilization Efficiency
Effective January 1, 2008 in the United States, and February 1, 2008 in the rest of the world, Chiron customers will be able to strike oil whenever they want. Responding to customer feedback, Chiron will now make PROCLEIX Oil to be used with PROCLEIX® Assays available separately to blood centers. The PROCLEIX Oil, which helps prevent evaporation during the reaction process, is currently included as part of the assay fluid kit. However, the usage of the oil and the reagents was not always equal. Customers have had to order additional kits just to obtain the PROCLEIX Oil. The partially used kits would then be discarded, resulting in waste.
"It has been one of our top customer requests, so we acted on it," says Tom Parenteau, director of Global Marketing for Chiron. "The new product offering is a direct result of feedback from our customers and user group meetings. We care about our customers, and we wanted to be responsive to them."
The PROCLEIX Oil kits, which include four standard bottles, will be available in the new package configuration at no charge. The PROCLEIX Assay Fluid Kit will remain unchanged and will continue to include PROCLEIX Oil. Additional PROCLEIX Oil can be ordered through Chiron's toll-free customer service line: (888)244-7667.
