At Chiron, a Novartis business, we strive to surpass the needs and expectations of blood centers worldwide. Based on customer feedback, we are introducing a few product enhancements that will improve blood center operations, increase workflow throughput, enhance productivity and offer added convenience.

I am pleased to inform you that on April 27th the FDA approved two labelling changes for the PROCLEIX^® HIV-1/HCV Assay.

The PROCLEIX^® Reagent Preparation Incubator (RPI) can now be used with the PROCLEIX HIV-1/HCV Assay. You will find the RPI offers greater flexibility and time savings while reagents are prepared for the PROCLEIX HIV-1/HCV Assay on the PROCLEIX^® System, also known as the enhanced Semi-Automated System (eSAS).

In addition, the PROCLEIX HIV-1/HCV Assay is approved to screen specimens from donors of haematopoietic stem / progenitor cells (HPC) sourced from bone marrow, peripheral blood, cord blood and donor lymphocytes for infusion in pools of up to 16.

The introduction of these product enhancements for the PROCLEIX HIV-1/HCV Assay is part of our continuing effort to offer products that better meet the needs of our customers.
